This celebration was inaugurated in 1957 and was endorsed by President Dwight D. Eisenhower. Each succeeding president has added his support.

The purpose of National Foreign Language Week is to make students aware of the need to study foreign languages. Each of the 300-plus chapters of Alpha Mu Gamma arrange their own celebration and events.

Mark the first full week in March on your calendar to celebrate this event. This year it was March 5-11, 2001. The National Foreign Language Week celebration by Mu Iota.
