Alpha Mu Gamma - Mu Iota
is a nationally recognized, collegiate, foreign-language honor
society with more than 300 chapters in both state and private universities and
colleges across the United States and Puerto Rico.
Mu Iota
was founded in 1996.
The purpose of the society
and local chapters is to:

Recognizes high achievement in the field of foreign-language study.

Make scholarships available to members planning advanced studies in foreign
languages.

Foster an understanding of other people, cultures and international
friendships through the medium of language.

Encourage a continuing interest in the study of foreign languages, literature
and
civilizations.

Stimulate a desire for linguistic attainment.
