Presidents
Message
By Sandra McAuley
The semester is coming to an end and I would like to thank
everyone who has put effort into our organization. It would not be what it is without you.
I feel we have accomplished a lot these last few months and have made IMA something for
MWSU to be proud of. I also feel that next semester will be even more fun and I look
forward to it. On behalf of all of the members I would like to wish our graduates good
luck in their future and let them know they will be missed. I wish for everyone and their
families a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. See you in January!

Sandra McAuley is the president of the MWSU Student Chapter of
nstitute of Management Accountants (IMA). She grew up in Saint Joseph, MO but now lives in
Dearborn, MO. Her husbands name is Tom McAuley. She has a daughter named Klarissa.
She is 5. Her major is accounting and her minor is Management. One of her hobbies is
decorating. She joined IMA because she loves accounting. She feels that anything
accounting related she would enjoy. She likes accounting because it is analytical. It
gives her the freedom to be analytical without making her husband CRAZY! She says she
wasn't into accounting or business in high school. She didn't know she was going on to
college. She graduates in May 2000 with a BSBA degree. She wants to pursue a career at a
public accounting firm. She tells other students to join IMA because it gives
opportunities to learn about business. Also, she strongly recommends becoming an officer
for leadership experience. |

Special
Olympics
By Mike Young
S aturday November 13th was an exciting day at Olympia Bowling
Lanes on the Belt Highway in St. Joseph, Missouri. It was exciting because of those
special Olympians competing for trophies of honor. The Special Olympics was held there
that day. Bowling was the sport held there. Volunteers from Institute of Management
Accountants gave their time to actively participate in helping the Olympics run smoothly.
The members made sure athletes got in the right bowling lanes at the right time. They also
kept score for their lanes. At the end the IMA volunteers led their assigned athletes to
their awards. Most athletes were well prepared for the day of honor. Most seemed to know
well what they were doing. It seemed a good experience for all that participated.
