STATEMENT OF PURPOSEDetermine students perceptions of their learning styles. The goal is to look for links between differing learning styles i.e. students who view themselves as auditory learners may also tend view themselves as tactile learners while students who view themselves as visual learners may view themselves as kinesthetic learners.STATEMENT OF RESEARCH METHODOLOGYA Q-study involving a Q-set of 40 statements to examine students perceptions of what learning styles they are most likely to employ. Demographic information such as major, sex, and year in college (academic and calendar) as well as full-time / part-time status will also be asked to detemine possible correlations between major and learning styles. Students will do a Q sort statements related to specific learning styles.ANTICIPATED RISKS AND BENEFITSNo more than minimal risk is anticipated. Students will sort statements about their own preferences when it comes to typical daily activities.SUBJECT SELECTIONApproximately 20 - 25 students who have completed at least 24 college credit hours. There is not planned reward or inducement although some instructors may offer extra credit for participation.CONFIDENTIALITYDemographic information will not be tracable to any student.
