STATEMENT OF PURPOSEto evaluate the relationship between the factors of entrepreneurial intensity and balanced scorecard factors of effectiveness. it is predicted that the degree of EI will be positively correlated with one or more of the four perspectives of effectiveness. IRB at Black Hills State University has approved this project, #H-10-02.STATEMENT OF RESEARCH METHODOLOGYData collection via a survey either face-to-face or via telephone interviews. Participants will be entrepreneurs/owners of businesses in the Black Hills of South Dakota.ANTICIPATED RISKS AND BENEFITSPart of the survey requests proprietary data which ust be kept confidential. Surveys will be stored in a locked file cabinet in the project director's office.SUBJECT SELECTIONApproximately 20 businesses initially, with potential to expand sample to 100 over the course of the year.CONFIDENTIALITYdata will be coded in such a way that it cannot be linked to an individual business. None of the businesses surveyed will be identified by name (a numbering system will be used).Extension Request on 02-17-2011data collection is expected to continue this summer and fall (2011)Extension Request on 02-16-2012A manuscript is in review based on the initial data collected; results suggest that we should try to collect additional data. we would like an extension of 1 year for this project. |
