Support FAQs

Support comes in many ways, but a key word is involvement.  So, how can you be involved?

Pray!
  • Put us on your prayer list; pray for the ministry, our meetings, the students (those who come and who don’t), the ministers and even the faculty of the school. Our weekly meetings are Thursday nights at 7:00pm, so that would be a great time to remember us in your prayers.
Provide.
  • If you think God has given you something you would like to share with our ministry, we would be blessed. In the past, various individuals and churches have provided snacks for one of our Thursday night meetings, this is a great opportunity to serve and be a part of the ministry—and college students love free food.
  • We also are occasionally looking for a place to have a weekend retreat, a hayride, or some other event off of campus—if you have or know of some place that might be available and good for one of these events let us know!
  • This ministry is supported financially through the generosity of individuals and churches.  If God has laid it on your heart to share with us in this way, through a special gift or on a monthly basis, we thank you for your help in sustaining and helping us grow in our ministry efforts.

Are there any specific prayer needs?

As listed above, the constant prayer needs are: for the ministry, our meetings, the students (those who come and who don’t), the ministers and even the faculty of the school. Our weekly meetings are Thursday nights at 7:00pm, so that would be a great time to remember us in your prayers.  At the beginning of each school year we also pray specifically for the incoming freshman as this is a huge time of change in their lives.  Praying specifically for the student leaders is important as they are learning to teach, serve and disciple while continuing to grow themselves.

Can I get on a newsletter mailing list so I know what is going on with the ministry?
Yes!  Probably the best way to get on the e-mail list is to e-mail Vic at the Campus House in Maryville (cch@classicnet.net) and say "Hey Vic, put me on the list!".

I would like to provide something for the ministry, how do I do this and who do I contact?
Just email Brian @ ccf@missouriwestern.edu and let us know what you have in mind.   You can also email us if you want to do something but don't know what-and we will try and find a way for you to be involved.

If CCF is a student organization, why do they need financial support?  Don't they get money from the university?
CCF is a student organization at MWSU, but does not receive financial contributions from the university.
Being a student organization, the students involved do have the ability to occasionally go before the student government and request financial help for organizational activities.  As you might have guessed, there are many limitations put into place when this happens.  If CCF participates in something that is school related, or educational, the students involved might get some financial help for their individual expenses.  Due to the nature of the organization (being a Christian group), however, most CCF activities the school is not able to support.
The ministry of CCF, therefore, is financially supported by individuals and local church congregations.  These gifts are used to employ campus ministers (such as
Brian at CCF and Vic at CCH), supplement student expenses in going on missions trips and/or attending student conferences & retreats,  upkeep on the house/offices in Maryville, and probably some other administrative/miscellaneous expenses (*in case we forgot something on here).

My church might like to support this campus ministry, can we get more info?  Can someone come to our church and tell us more?
If you or your church/group would like more information about CCF and campus ministry, please let us know and we will try and get you whatever information we can.  One of the campus ministers (Vic or Brian) will occasionally visit supporting churches during a Sunday morning service, or for a special church event to build relationships with others in the body of Christ, and give the congregation an update or information about the ministry.  If your church would like for one of the campus ministers to come visit and share about the ministry, please contact us via e-mail or call the office in Maryville at (660) 582-7170.

I have decided I would like to contribute financially, how do I do that?
If you have already decided to give financially, you can send us support made out to "Central States Christian Endeavors Association" or "Christian Campus House".  We appreciate your gifts in any amount!  The mailing address is as follows:
Christian Campus House
904 College Ave.
Maryville, MO  64468

Why is the address for CCF not a St. Joseph address?
While the ministry of CCF is at Missouri Western in St. Joseph, CCF is a partner in ministry with CCH (Christian Campus House) in Maryville, MO; and both are overseen by the same board (Central States Christian Endeavors Association or CSCEA).  It sounds sort of complicated, but it basically comes down to a few things.
  • The ministry in Maryville has been around longer and for a while was the only ministry overseen by CSCEA--so everything is listed under these names.
  • CCH actually has a "house"-a meeting area and offices-adjacent to the campus in Maryville, whereas the ministry in St. Joseph meets on the MWSU campus and currently has no office.  The address given is the address of the office at the campus house in Maryville where a majority of the administrative-type stuff gets taken care of for both ministries.
