In 2001, Brian moved to Missouri to begin serving in campus ministry at
both Northwest Missouri State University (Christian Campus House) and
Missouri Western State University (Christian Campus Fellowship). In
2003, the ministry at Missouri Western was in need of a full-time
campus minister, and Brian moved to St. Joseph to serve in his current
position as campus minister for CCF. Brian is a graduate of Central
Christian College (‘95), and has served as a youth minister
in
Des Moines, Iowa and Memphis, Missouri in the 6 years prior to entering
campus ministry.
Brian cites the impact of God working in His life while He was a
college student as being a primary factor in God leading Him to work
with college students today. “As a freshman in college I had
what
I call a ‘family faith’ but didn’t have
any idea what
a relationship with God really meant. College life is so much more than
just going to class and studies. For the first time, most students are
forming ideas and thinking deeply about real issue; ‘who am
I,
what do I want to do, is there a God, and if so what impact does that
have on my life?’ Hopefully we get a chance to talk to
students
about Jesus and that God makes a real and lasting impact on their
life.”
