WESTERN EXHIBITS WOODCUT PRINTS BY DANIEL ALLEGRUCCI
St. Joseph, Mo. -Nov. 4, 2010-Missouri Western State University will exhibit woodcut prints by Daniel Allegrucci from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Nov. 8-10 at Potter Hall Gallery.
''I love woodcut printmakings ability to transform a drawing,'' Allegrucci recently told Bl magazine. ''Im always excited by what happens when the drawn line becomes a cut edge. There is an uncompromising directness that comes through in the cut marks. It sort of simplifies things and makes them clear and bold.''
Allegrucci received his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with a concentration in printmaking from UNC-Charlotte. He continued his studies at Wichita State University before returning to his present home, Charlotte, N.C. His work has been shown throughout the Southeast and is included in collections in Germany and Hong Kong.
The exhibit of Allegruccis work is free and open to the public. For more information please contact Geo Sipp, associate professor of art, at 816-271-4451 or sipp@missouriwestern.edu.
