WESTERN PRESENTS ANNUAL RENAISSANCE CONCERT
St. Joseph, Mo. -Nov. 3, 2010-The Missouri Western State University Renaissance Singers will present their annual Renaissance Concert at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 9 in Kemper Recital Hall.
The Renaissance Singers, under the direction of Dr. Roger Hale, assistant professor of choral music education and voice, are a group comprised of some of Westerns best vocalists. Dressed in Renaissance costume, they will present an evening of music from the 16th and 17th centuries, including texts in Italian, French, Spanish, Latin and English. Together with instrumentation of the time, soloists will also share in the evening, providing a wide variety of music to transport you back to the Renaissance.
The Renaissance Singers recently placed first at the Kansas City Renaissance Festivals inaugural music festival.
General admission is $7. Seniors and Western students and employees with their I.D. are $5. Kids 12 and under are free.
