WESTERN’S ALPHA CHI INITIATES NEW MEMBERS
St. Joseph, Mo.—Nov. 18, 2009—Missouri Western State University’s Lambda Chapter of Alpha Chi, national college honor scholarship society, recently initiated 50 new members. Classified as a general honor society, meaning that it accepts members from all academic fields, Alpha Chi inducts no more than the top 10 percent of junior, senior and graduate students at member institutions. Each student initiated must also have a GPA of 3.75 or higher.

The objectives of Alpha Chi are the stimulation, development, and recognition of scholarships and those elements of character that make scholarship effective for good purposes. Alpha Chi encourages students to continue their development through graduate work, supports a scholarship program in their behalf, admits them to participate in regional and national programs and publishes a magazine and newsletter annually.
