Bill McMurray

Bill McMurray, adjunct instructor of music history and organ, attended Missouri Western State University and graduated from the University of Kansas with bachelor's and master's degrees in music education.
Additional study has been with Robert Shaw at Westminster Choir College; at Catholic University of America (Gregorian Chant); and at the Pontificio Istituto Di Musica Sacra in Rome (Gregorian Chant).
He has earned the colleague, choirmaster and associate certificates from the American Guild of Organists in New York.
McMurray serves as organist/choirmaster at Christ Episcopal Church and as director of music at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church.
In 2001 he retired as Senior VP and CFO from Burnham, Colman, McMurray and Squires, after 23 years of service. Active in the St. Joseph community, he serves on the boards of the American Guild of Organists (of which he is 2003 Regional Convention Chair); Pony Express Council, BSA (of which he is Capital Campaign Chair); St. Joseph Public Library Board (of which he is President); Heritage Bank; and the United Way. He is also a gubernatorial appointee to the Missouri State Council on the Arts.
In the fall of 2002, the MWSU Alumni Association recognized McMurray with its "Distinguished Alumnus" award.
