Dr. Roger Hale joined the faculty at Missouri Western State University in August of 2009. He received a Bachelor of Music Education (2001) and Masters of Choral Conducting (2006) from the University of Utah, and a Ph.D. in Choral Music Education and Conducting from Florida State University (2009). Dr. Hale studied closely with John Cooksey, André Thomas, Kevin Fenton, and Clifford Madsen.

He previously served as Choir and Band Director in southeastern Idaho at Bear Lake Middle School and High School. Other conducting responsibilities included serving as director of the Bear Lake Community Chorus, University of Utah Concert Chorale, Florida State University Chamber Singers, Senior Citizen's Choir, and University Singers, an ensemble that recently finished a tour of the southeastern United States (2009).

Dr. Hale's teaching responsibilities include directing the Chamber Singers and the new Women's Chorus, private voice, aural skills, secondary music education methods, and supervision of student teachers. He lives in St. Joseph, MO with his wife KayDe and their four children.
