About Janet Gorman Murphy...
Named after Dr. Janet Gorman Murphy, Missouri Western's president from 1983-2000, the building was one of six new buildings constructed during her presidency. A champion for higher education, Murphy was constantly finding ways to keep Missouri Western abreast with other schools in areas such as technology, education and scholarship.
