Guide to Online Classes
The other things you need in an online course...
(aka Tricks)
You've logged on to your course, printed your course documents, and are
ready to learn! Eventually, you might need one of these tricks:
- PowerPoint: many professors include presentations in their classes.
If you don't have PowerPoint, you can download
a free PowerPoint Viewer from Microsoft.
- WebCT's Discussion Board does not have a spell checker. Type your
posts in Word, check the spelling, and then copy & paste the text
into the "Compose" window.
- Computers crash! Save your files often! Back-up
your computer regularly to CD or post your important class files
in the My Files section of WebCT.
- Those files you put in the My Files section of WebCT or your P Drive... you can now access them from work, campus, or while on vacation.
- Need a word processing software? Presentation software? Spreadsheet software? Try OpenOffice, a FREE open-source office suite.
- Need Adobe Acrobat Reader? Click here to download it.
