ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF POLITICAL SCIENCE- (1-year temporary position)- The Department of Economics, Political Science, and Sociology is seeking applications from well-qualified candidates to teach 12 credit hours per semester beginning August 2012; areas of expertise must include Political Theory, American Politics, and American Public Policy; additional desirable fields include quantitative/qualitative methods, Comparative Politics, and online education delivery. Interest in supporting internships and new course development an added plus. REQUIRED: Ph.D. in Political Science. Teaching experience and research in one of the areas of expertise listed above. The Department of Psychology at Missouri Western State University invites applications for a 1-year temporary position at the Instructor or Assistant Professor level to begin August, 2012. Responsibilities will include teaching statistics, research methods, introductory psychology and possibly a course in the candidate’s area of expertise, as well as advising students and serving on departmental committees. Area of specialization is open; however, candidates with interests in human factors psychology or an applied area of experimental or developmental psychology will be given preference. REQUIRED: Master’s degree in Psychology, Doctorate preferred. PHYSICAL EDUCATION PEDAGOGY ASSISTANT PROFESSOR- (full-time, tenure- track to begin August 2012) to teach undergraduate courses in physical education pedagogy and public. REQUIRED: Earned doctorate in physical education pedagogy (ABD considered) and experience in public school teaching. Candidates with a Master’s degree may apply for a one-year temporary position. PREFERRED: University teaching experience in the areas of physical education pedagogy and related fields, and experience in supervision. Certification in public school teaching a plus. The candidate is expected to perform scholarly research, advise students, provide departmental/university support, and participate in university, community, and professional service activities. CHAIRPERSON, DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION, ASSOCIATE/FULL PROFESSOR – (full-time, beginning August 2012) to serve as department chair and faculty in teacher education. REQUIRED: Earned doctorate in an area of education from an accredited institution of higher education; academic experience and qualifications meriting tenured appointment of associate or professorial rank; experience in evaluation of faculty; experience in working with and leading NCATE accreditation efforts. PREFERRED: Experience with online teacher education; administrative experience in higher education; and teacher certification. ASSOCIATE/ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF SOCIAL WORK or INSTRUCTOR- (1-year temporary position, beginning August 2012). Teaching responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following areas: Social Work Practice, Social Work Policy, Human Behavior, and the Social Environment, & Social Science Research. Other responsibilities depending on position include recruiting, advising, and evaluating students; engaging in research, and participating in Departmental, University, and Community Service. REQUIRED: For Associate/Assistant Professor, a Ph.D. in Social Work or closely related area, having a MSW from a CSWE-accredited program and at least two years of post-MSW practice experience. For Instructor position, an MSW with 5 years of post-graduate experience for a non-tenure track position. The MSW position would be full-time, 9 month contract.
