Announcing the 2012 Employee Wellness Screening and Benefit Fair!

The MWSU Wellness Committee is happy to announce details for this years annual wellness screening and benefit fair to be held Monday, October 8th (11 AM 6 PM), Tuesday, October 9th (7 AM 4 PM), and Wednesday, October 10th (6 AM 3 PM). This years screening and benefits fair will be held in the Fulkerson Center.

ALL benefit eligible employees (whether covered by MWSU health insurance or not) are eligible to participate. Spouses and retirees, only if covered by MWSU health insurance, are also eligible to participate. No children may participate.

This years screening will again include both the health risk assessment (HRA) and the biometric (blood work) assessment. You must complete both components of the wellness screening in order to provide an analysis of your overall health. This information may be used following the screening to share with your primary health care provider. Please allow approximately 30 minutes for the completion of these components.

Screening Includes:

Screening is by finger stick, with immediate results.  A health educator will review your results with you present.

FASTING IS NOT REQUIRED!  PLEASE DRINK PLENTY OF WATER!

An account through www.bluekc.com will be required to complete the HRA. You may have one set up, as this is where you can also view your claims, check costs of prescriptions, link to Points to Blue, etc. However, if you do not, instructions on how to set this up are attached to the wellness website. Please remember that this must be a different account, different login than when we were with BCBS two years ago. If possible, please have your user id and password set up prior to the screening and be sure to bring that information with you.

Flu Shots will be available during screening hours. An appointment is not necessary. The consent form and information about this years flu shot are attached.

Be sure to allow time to visit with our Benefit Vendors: American Century (403b), Blue Cross Blue Shield (Medical), Commerce Bank, ING (403b), New Directions (EAP Provider), Power Group (Dental, Flexible Spending, Vision, and Voluntary Products), State of Missouri Deferred Compensation (457), TIAA-Cref (403b/457), and Valic (403b/457).

Wellness initiatives continue to be an important topic to our campus and especially our employees. You will continue to see more and more wellness opportunities being presented to you through campus efforts (http://www.missouriwestern.edu/hr/wellness.asp). In order to help you take that first step in participation of our annual Wellness Screening or continue your healthy efforts of the past, we will be offering ALL employees a $20 cash incentive and MWSU wellness tumbler at the completion of the your screening and HRA, in addition to the chance to register for some additional prizes including a Kansas City night away at Chateau Avalon, an iPad and others to be determined. As in the past, the $20 cash is taxable and the value of it will be added to a future payroll.

For those employees that participate in Points to Blue, the Wellness Screening earns you 10,000 points and the HRA earns you an additional 10,000 points. For questions about Points to Blue, please see the attached flyer.
