What types of internship opportunities are available?
All students complete professional practice experiences at area health care settings. Recent graduates have worked in doctors’ offices and hospitals in St. Joseph and the Kansas City area.

Why are internship programs important to the program?
Experience in the field is beneficial to each student’s education. Internships provide students with a valuable hands-on experience that is difficult to duplicate in the classroom.

Do students attend conferences in the field?

MWSU students are fortunate to be invited to Cancer Registry training every spring sponsored by the State Association for Cancer Registrars'.

Students are required to become members of the American Health Information Management Association which also grants them membership in Missouri Health Information Management Association.
