A tremendously versatile guitarist, Jason’s professional experience includes recording, composing, teaching and performing in various styles.  His formal degree in classical guitar and commercial music included extensive study in American genres, especially the Jazz idiom and improvisation.

As a recording artist, Jason has produced and released three solo CDs, Notes to Self (a compilation of original compositions), Outtakes (original arrangements of traditional works) and Spirit of Things (traditional American spirituals.

An equally successful and dedicated sideman, his playing has been featured extensively as a guest performer on many albums by other artists.

Jason’s unique and personal style of improvisation includes "live" looping and electronic effects in both acoustic and electric mediums combined with a tremendous stage presence.

His work not only exhibits an astounding proficiency in the classical arena but incorporates a profound utilization of his rock and jazz background - a feat that few guitarists ever achieve.

Jason has won competitions and reader’s polls in rock and country genres and has opened for, and performed with, countless international artists notwithstanding his frequent radio and television appearances.

When not on tour, Jason serves as a guitar professor at several universities throughout the Midwest.  He is co-author (with Anthony Glise) of the university textbook, The Guitar—A History of Performance (2005) and is co-director along with Anthony of "Six Strings and the Spirit" - a series of guitar festivals held annually in Chartres, France and Cologne, Germany.
