Applicants who are non-native speakers of English must receive a minimum score of 500 paper test, 173 computer-based, or 61 internet-based on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or a 5.5 academic IELTS score unless they possess a baccalaureate degree from a college or university in which instruction is given in English. All foreign nation students must provide evidence of visa status and F-visa students must have an I-20 form on file with the Admissions Office.
Students are encouraged to work with the International Student Coordinator for assistance with Visas and any other questions.

Tests taken more than two (2) years prior to the date of application cannot be accepted.
Western reserves the right to assess the quality of your English in addition to your TOEFL score (even if you come from an English speaking country) and require that you participate in the Intensive English Program (IEP) if necessary.
NOTE: International students have earlier application deadlines because of the need to secure a visa. June 15th is the absolute latest date to apply for Fall admission. October 15th is the latest date for January admission. International students are also not eligible for a Visa for online programs, however, you can take the online programs from your native country.
