Baker Education Trust Deadline: March 1st Deadline: March 1st The Bill Carter Memorial Scholarship is a $250.00 scholarship given out each fall and spring semester to a worthy gay, lesbian, bisexual, or transgender (GLBT) student or the child of a GLBT person. Recipients may reapply if a GPA of 2.5 is maintained and they are a member in good standing of Pride Alliance. A student may receive the scholarship 3 times while at MWSU. The scholarship was started by the Midland Empire Taskforce and is based on community involvement, academic success, and financial need. Hausman Family Scholarship Deadline: March 1st Missouri Western Foundation This scholarship is open to all majors with preference given to students majoring in Education, Business, Construction Engineering or Nursing. Recipients must have a GPA of 3.0 and be enrolled full-time. Over above, scholarship applications must contain evidence of community service and at least three letters of reference. Financial need shall be the determining factor among qualified candidates. Hesnault Scholarship Deadline: March 1st Deadline: March 1st This scholarship is available to first-time or transfer international students from India who have been admitted into an undergraduate or graduate degree program at Missouri Western. Jack and Frieda Zurow Scholarship Deadline: March 1st John and Mary Veoski Scholarship Deadline: March 1st The John and Mary Veoski Scholarship fund offers awards to needy students coming from families at or below the federally established poverty level (family size considered). John Sublett Logan Business Undergraduate Scholarship Deadline: March 1st Missouri Western Department Aid Program The John Sublett Logan Business Undergraduate Scholarship provides assistance to full-time, junior and senior students who intend to pursue graduate degrees in Accounting, Business, Economics, or Legal Studies. Applicants must have completed a minimum of 60 hours, have a minimum GPA of 3.20, earned a composite ACT of 23 or above, participate in community service, be a declared major in Business, Legal Studies, Accounting, or Economics, and reside in Buchanan, Platte, Andrew, Clay, or Clinton county in Missouri. Kent M. Kiepe Memorial Scholarship Deadline: March 1st Missouri Western Foundation Established in memory of Lt. Kent M. Kiepe, a graduate of Missouri Western State University. This endowed scholarship is available to a student who demonstrates citizenship and leadership, has a solid academic performance with a GPA of 3.0, and has financial need. Marian Mitchell Scholarship Deadline: March 1st Missouri Western Foundation The Marian Mitchell Scholarship is awarded annually to senior level students with a minimum GPA of 3.0. Milton Litvak Memorial Scholarship-Government Deadline: March 31st Missouri Western Foundation For pre-law and/or political science and public affairs, 3.0 GPA to qualify and maintain. Must be a Sophomore or higher to apply. Must provide the contact information (name, address, and phone number) of 3 references. Financial need will be considered. Looney Community Service Scholarship Deadline: Priority March 1st Missouri Western Foundation The M.O. Looney Scholarship is available to a sophomore, junior, or senior, full-time student with a record of community service. A GPA of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale is required. Recipient must work a total of 125 hours per academic year doing community service (equivalent of $8.00 per hour). Application Procedures: Complete the General Scholarship Application requirements. Missouri Savings for Tuition (MOST) Deadline: March 1st Missouri Western State University offers a $500 Scholarship to first time freshmen students whose families have established an account in the student's name in the Missouri Saving for Tuition (MOST) Program. Ten non-renewable scholarships will be provided. Families will be responsible for providing documentation of at least two years participation in the MOST Program by submitting a statement from MOST indicating an active account for the student. Recipient selection will be based on need, as determined by the results of the FAFSA. Opal LaValle Steward Scholarship Deadline: March 1st Missouri Western Foundation Established in memory of Opal LaValle Steward. Reiplinger Memorial Scholarship Deadline: March 1st Missouri Western Foundation Pete O. Reiplinger, 1934 Alumnus of the St. Joseph Junior College, provided an estate gift to the Missouri Western State University Foundation. Pete and his wife Myrtle lived in St. Joseph and his father, Oliver Reiplinger, served as a member of the St. Joseph Fire Department. It was Mr. Reiplinger's wish that these funds be used for scholarships with special consideration given to children of the St. Joseph Fire Department. Recreation Services Missouri Western Department Aid Program Scholarships are available to students for assisting in the operation of the university's intramural program. Students will be selected based upon previous intramural and recreational experience, previous leadership positions, ability to relate to philosophy in intramural programs, and participants and recommendations from references. Deadline: March 1st Missouri Western Foundation Created to assist deserving students who want to continue their education but need financial assistance. Two letters of reference and transcript required. Students may renew the scholarship if they maintain a "C" average in all subjects and enroll in a minimum of 14 hours per semester. Rotary Scholarship Private Donor One scholar granted opportunity for a full academic year's study abroad - all expenses paid. As "Ambassador of Goodwill", Rotary scholar is expected to speak in the host country as well as local clubs upon their return home. All disciplines, senior or recent graduate. GPA 3.0 or higher. Sally Juden Reed Scholarship Deadline: March 1st Missouri Western Foundation This endowed scholarship was established in memory of Sally Juden Reed, an active community volunteer with an interest in social welfare. Applicants must be a full-time undergraduate or graduate student with an ACT of at least 19 or a high school GPA of 3.0 or higher. Current students must have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5. A current recipient of this scholarship must maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher to renew the scholarship. The Taco John's Scholarship Private Donor Taco John's has established a scholarship program for its employees with financial need desiring a degree from MWSU. Scholarship amounts will depend upon in-state fees and hours worked per week. A 2.0 GPA will be required for the scholarship. Contact Information: Taco John's. Thomas Farthing Graduate Scholarship Missouri Western Foundation The Thomas Farthing Graduate Scholarship is a merit-based graduate scholarship available to those students admitted into
Missouri Western's Graduate program. Contact Information: Office of Graduate Studies Western Frontier Scholarship Deadline: Priority March 1st Missouri Western Aid Program This scholarship is awarded to students that are not residents of Missouri who score a minimum composite of 23 on the ACT. The award cannot be combined with the Midwest Student Exchange Program or the Neighboring States Scholarship. The scholarship is worth an amount up to $1,500 per year. Western Public Service Internship Award Deadline: Priority March 1st Missouri Western Aid Program These awards are granted to Missouri Western students participating in a public service internship. Students from all disciplines are encouraged to apply. The scholarship will pay up to 12 hours tuition (dependent upon the other institutional financial aid the student is receiving). If relocation is required, a stipend valued at up to $700 per month (maximum 5 months) is provided to assist with living expenses.
