Brad Arn Scholarship Deadline: March 1st Missouri Western Department Aid Program A scholarship will be given annually in memory of Brad Arn, a St. Joseph Police Officer, killed in the line of duty. Recipient should be majoring in Criminal Justice, with a GPA of 2.0 or above, with financial need. Preference will be given to St. Joseph Police Officers returning to college first and then other area law enforcement officers. DeKraai Scholarship Missouri Western Foundation Student attending Missouri Western State University Regional Law Enforcement Academy. Preference given to students demonstrating qualities of leadership. The character, integrity, and athletic achievement of the applicant will be considered. Nix Scholarship is awarded to a degree seeking Criminal Justice major with an emphasis in law enforcement. Must be a Junior or Senior with a minimum GPA of 3.00. Preference will be given to current law enforcement officers (not private security). Financial need will be a consideration. Contact Information: Department of Criminal Justice, Legal Studies and Social Work, 816/271-4293 Leroy Maxwell Memorial Scholarship Deadline: March 1st Missouri Western Department Aid Program The Leroy Maxwell Memorial Scholarship is awarded on a competitive basis to a degree seeking Criminal Justice major with an emphasis in law enforcement or juvenile offenders. Preference will be given to law enforcement officers or juvenile personnel and Benton High School graduates. Must have a 2.50 GPA to be considered. The recipient must have obtained junior status and have a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Application Procedures: Complete the General Scholarship Application requirements. Applicants must have earned an ACT composite score of 21-24 and enroll in LAW 100 or LAT 101 during their first semester. Harriette Schulz Deadline: March 1st Missouri Western Foundation Harriette Schulz understood the importance of higher education. After helping her children through college, she eventually earned a master’s degree and used her college education and considerable talents to improve the lives of people in need through her grant writing and research efforts. Her friends and family established this $500, annual scholarship to honor her memory and her life-long humanitarian efforts.
