The Missouri Department of Higher Education

The Missouri Department of Higher Education provides resources and services so that students have the opportunity to obtain a postsecondary education in Missouri.  MDHE administers federal and state student financial assistance programs to approximately 120,000 eligible students annually.

In addition, MDHE conducts outreach activities to improve consumer information about opportunities for postsecondary education and student financial assistance in Missouri, and to help students avoid default and credit card debt.

The Department of Elementary and Secondary Education

The Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) is the administrative arm of the State Board of Education. It is primarily a service agency that works with educators, legislators, government agencies and citizens to maintain a strong public education system. The Department strives to assure that all citizens have access to quality public education.
