About Electronics Engineering
Technology
The four-year program leading to a B.S. degree in electronics
engineering technology is accredited by the Technology Accreditation
Commission of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology
(ETAC of ABET). It is the only four-year program in electronics
engineering technology that is accredited by ETAC of ABET in the State
of Missouri at a public state-supported four-year institution. The B.S.
degree program is a broad-based technical program and has strong
foundations in mathematics, basic and engineering sciences, computers,
and has excellent blend of theory and practice of electrical/electronics
engineering and technology principles. The curriculum is designed to
train students in the fundamentals of electronics applications via
hands-on experimentation in a variety of laboratory settings.
The program educational objectives for BS EET graduates are:
- Possess the general knowledge of electrical and
electronics industry such as concepts, terminologies, basic
and standard problem-solving techniques.
- Demonstrate the ability to analyze, design, and
implement electronic systems in one or more of the areas
related to control systems, instrumentation systems,
communications systems, computer systems, or power systems.
- Function effectively in a group environment in the
industrial workplace through demonstration of technical and
communication skills.
- Understand professional, ethical, and social
responsibilities.
- Show respect for diversity and knowledge of contemporary
professional, societal and global issues.
- Demonstrate a commitment to quality, timeliness, and
continuous improvement.vii. Continue
professional development through life-long learning.

Flowchart
The student learning outcomes for BS EET at course-level are:
Aa. the application of circuit analysis and design, computer programming,
associated software, analog and digital electronics, and microcomputers to
the building, testing, operation, and maintenance of
electrical/electronic(s) systems.
Ab. the applications of physics or chemistry to electrical/electronic(s)
circuits in a rigorous mathematical environment at or above the level of
algebra and trigonometry.
Ba. the ability to analyze, design, and implement control systems,
instrumentation systems,
communications systems, computer systems, or power systems.
Bb. the ability to apply project management techniques to
electrical/electronic(s) systems.
Bc. the ability to utilize statistics/probability, transform methods,
discrete mathematics, or applied differential equations in support of
electrical/electronic(s) systems.
The student learning outcomes for BS EET at program-level are:
- an ability to select and apply the knowledge,
techniques, skills, and modern tools of the discipline to
broadly-defined engineering technology activities;
- an ability to select and apply a knowledge of
mathematics, science, engineering, and technology to
engineering technology problems that require the application
of principles and applied procedures or methodologies;
- an ability to conduct standard tests and
measurements; to conduct, analyze, and interpret
experiments; and to apply experimental results to improve
processes;
- an ability to design systems, components, or processes
for broadly-defined engineering technology problems
appropriate to program educational objectives;
- an ability to function effectively as a member or
leader on a technical team;
- an ability to identify, analyze, and solve
broadly-defined engineering technology problems;
- an ability to apply written, oral, and graphical
communication in both technical and nontechnical
environments; and an ability to identify and use appropriate
technical literature;
- an understanding of the need for and an ability to
engage in self-directed continuing professional development;
- an understanding of and a commitment to address
professional and ethical responsibilities including a
respect for diversity;
