Professional Interests: African-American Literature, Modernism, the Beat Generation, Postcolonial and Cultural Studies, Contemporary Creative Writing, Poetry and Prose. His current scholarship includes a book proposal for The Narrative of the Neo-Slave: African-American Writers and Post-Reconstruction Enslavement of the Emancipated. He is circulating poems among literary journals, working on a novel, and revising a collection of stories. Recent publications include fiction in Coal City Review and Steam Ticket.
