Position/Graduate School

Currently: "Retired" on medical disability in 1998

Since I no longer work I guess all my news is personal. Our second godchild (they are like our grandchildren since we don't have children), Daniel, was born last October. He joins big sister Alexandra, now 6, as the two most darling children on the planet!

In February I made my first trip to Israel and am returning to Jerusalem this November for the wedding of a close friend. I've traveled all over Western Europe, visited Russia, and lived and worked for short periods in Romania, but going to Israel is very different from any other kind of international travel I've done. As an aside, I felt safer in Jerusalem than I do in St. Louis.

We now have minor league baseball here in Columbia, and I won season tickets in the name-the-team contest. So we've spent a lot of hot summer nights at the ballpark and we've loved every minute of it! We are also eagerly awaiting MU football and basketball seasons; we're lucky enough to have season basketball tickets. Since we are both rabid college sports fans, Columbia is a great place to live!

Former Employer: University of Missouri International Center as the Coordinator, Fellowships & Special Projects

I wrote grant proposals and a variety of reports, prospectuses, student and faculty handbooks, briefing books, brochures and so on. I also designed and developed the international center's first Web page, back in the day when we did all the HTML tagging by hand. I also had a number of student advisees, mostly international exchange students who didn't have an assigned faculty advisor.

I would be happy to speak with or e-mail MWSU graduates coming to MU for graduate degrees, or anyone who wants to know how a Liberal Arts degree can be useful in the real world. While at MWSU I further developed and refined my ability to write concisely and accurately, which helped me get (and keep) what turned out to be a terrific job which I hated to have to leave.
