The Division of Student Affairs, St. Joseph Transit, the City of St. Joseph and the Greater St. Joseph Area Metropolitan Planning Organization sponsored a Campus Informational meeting meeting to solicit input on current transit service. Students, faculty and staff were invited to attend and give their input. This is part of a “Transit Operations Study” that is currently underway. The Study will analyze current bus routes and schedules to determine if changes need to be made to optimize existing service. Such optimization may include changes to service days, service hours, morning and afternoon peak service, routes from campus to area shops, routes from the community to campus, shuttle service within the campus, etc. In addition to securing rider input, the study efforts will include counting and surveying bus passengers, interviewing bus drivers, city, civic and business officials, representatives of major employers and representatives of social/senior service agencies. Overseeing the study is a team comprised of technical staff from St. Joseph Transit, the City of St. Joseph and the Greater St. Joseph Area Metropolitan Planning Organization. For more information or to provide additional ideas, call Student Affairs at 816.271.4432 or contact: grimes@missouriwestern.edu.
