What is the amount of the scholarship? The scholarship award is $1562.50 per semester. Smaller awards may be possible. [Back to Top] Who is eligible? Eligibility requirements are listed here. [Back to Top] Can the scholarship be renewed? Scholarship renewal requirements are listed here. [Back to Top] How do I apply for this scholarship? The application requirements are listed here. [Back to Top] How do I know if I qualify for Federal financial aid? Missouri Western has a Cost of Attendance Budget (COA) and you will have an Estimated Family Contribution (EFC), which is calculated on your FAFSA. If the Cost of Attendance Budget minus the Estimated Family Contribution is positive, you qualify for Federal aid (i.e. COA - EFC > 0). For more information about the Cost of Attendance, go here. [Back to Top] How will I know if I have received the scholarship? Scholarship recipients will be notified in writing that they have been selected and will be required to sign a contract indicating their commitment to the program. Each semester, recipients will receive up to $1562.50. Applicants who are eligible, but not selected for the program, will receive a letter of regret, and their application will be kept on file. They can be reconsidered during the next application period provided the student notifies Deborah Becker and updates the necessary information. [Back to Top] How might this scholarship affect my other financial aid? If you receive this scholarship, there is a possibility that your loans and other funding might be reduced. The reason is that the total of all Federal aid cannot exceed the Missouri Western Cost of Attendance Budget. [Back to Top] Why are Computer Information Systems (CIS) not eligible? Those majors are not included in the programs of study supported by this National Science Foundation grant. [Back to Top]
