Purchases for Students
Purchasing a computer is a major investment, and
we want to help you make a wise investment. We recommend middle-
to higher-end technology for two reasons:

To anticipate the use of resource-intensive
applications, especially in the residence halls

Because today's high-end technology may still be useful
for these resource-intensive tasks by the time you are a
junior or senior.
Ultimately, though, it's up to you as to whether
you purchase computer technology other than our recommendation. If you
