What is the server address if I want to setup another email
client (Outlook/Thunderbird/etc.) or my mobile device (iPhone/iPad/Android/etc.)
to access my email?
To remotely access your email, use the following server
addresses. Only the IMAP protocol is supported for retrieving email
from the GroupWise server.
Incoming Server:
IMAP server: mwsu-imap.missouriwestern.edu
port 143: STARTTLS encryption required
or port 993: SSL encryption required
Outgoing Server:
SMTP server: mwsu-smtp.missouriwestern.edu
port 25: STARTTLS encryption/authentication optional
(required for relaying when off-campus)
or port 587: STARTTLS encryption/authentication optional
(required for relaying when off-campus) - recommended port
when off-campus
Can I synchronize my calendar and/or contacts with my mobile device
as well as e-mail?
In short, YES! However, this is only available to MWSU
employees at this time. Employees can send a request to
groupwise@missouriwestern.edu to be added to the synchronization
server. Please include your device type (Android/iPad/iPhone/Windows
Mobile) along with your request, so a link to setup instructions can
be returned to you. Sorry, but Blackberries are NOT supported by
this service.
