Listed below are the courses for which content tutors are currently available.
Students contact the tutors via email to set up an appointment; all tutoring takes place in the Center during its regular hours. When contacting a tutor, students should use their Missouri Western email address and include the course name with days and times available for tutoring. If a tutor has not replied to a request for tutoring within two business days, please contact the Content Tutor Coordinator, Susan Garrison, at 816-271-4401 or via email garrison@missouriwestern.edu
*To work as a content tutor, one must have a minimum 3.0 GPA and a recommendation from a faculty member. The instructor who gave each tutor's recommendation is in parentheses after the tutor's name.
Students can schedule sessions with a tutor in order to learn how to use Missouri Western's web mail, Microsoft Office (Word, Powerpoint, Excel), and access the Internet. Call 271-4401 to schedule a lesson.
Supplemental Instruction sessions are led by faculty-selected, trained students who have successfully completed the course. These students also attend classes again in order to be as current as possible with the text and lectures and to model effective study habits (note-taking, etc.) SI Sessions are regularly scheduled based on the needs of the class and are used to review lecture information, become familiar with the text, and prepare for tests.
