SCULPTURE

The Sculpture program provides a rigorous introduction into the traditional methods and materials used in the making of sculptural art. Methods covered include: mold making, wood and stone carving and wood fabrication, welding and bronze casting. Students are introduced to the rich history and tradition of sculpture through video and slide presentations.

Advanced students are encouraged and required to develop their own personal direction in the media and techniques of their choice. Our well equipped studio features wood working equipment, air tools, metal fabrication tools including welders and plasma cutting equipment, and casting facilities. A student may pursue either a Bachelors of Fine Art (B.F.A.) or Bachelors of Art (B.A.) degree in Sculpture while refining their personal statement in Sculpture.
