GRAPHIC DESIGN

Missouri Western State University (MWSU) Department of Art offers a Bachelors of Fine Art (B.F.A.) in Graphic Design. The MWSU Graphic Design B.F.A. curriculum is designed to give instruction in a broad base of skills and provide courses that are increasingly specific to each student's area of interest. Students complete courses in typography, illustration, photography, interactive design, advertising design and print design. Students are required to participate in the Sophomore Review during their second year and enroll in Senior Projects and Final Portfolio during their final two semesters. Internships, offered in the student’s final year, advance the educational process by extending the curriculum into the business world.

The MWSU Macintosh Computer Art lab is equipped with 22 Mac Pro computers with 20 inch monitors, three Epson large format inkjet printers, two bed scanners, and a Nikon film scanner. We have latest in graphic design software, the Creative Suite 4 Master Collection, which includes Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Flash, Dreamweaver, Premiere and After Effects. We have recently added the latest version of Maya, the 3D animation software.
