Missouri Western State University, Missouri’s Applied Learning institution, is proud to host its 8th Annual Conference on Applied Learning in Higher Education (CALHE) to take place in Saint Joseph, Missouri on March 21-23, 2013.
We are pleased to announce Dr. David Daniel, Professor of Psychology, James Madison University, Harrisonburg, Virginia; Ross Eisenbrey, Vice President of the Economic Policy Institute, Washington, DC; Dr. Tony Jenkins, Vice President for Academic Affairs of the National Peace Academy, New York, New York; and Dr. Julio Rivera, Provost of Carthage College, Kenosha, Wisconsin as the keynote speakers for CALHE 2013.
The conference fee includes a pre-conference session on March 21st, lunch and dinner on the 22nd, lunch on the 23rd, as well as shuttle service from the conference hotel to campus each day, and a subscription to the Journal of Applied Learning in Higher Education. Presenters at this year's conference will be eligible to submit their work for consideration for publication in the Journal of Applied Learning in Higher Education.

Applied Learning focuses on learning that occurs in contexts outside of the traditional classroom setting, such as study abroad programs, independent research experiences, internships or practica, service-learning, or co-curricular programming. This conference will provide a venue for scholars, practitioners, and students to gather and share their work.
