What is the Western League for Excellence?
The
Western League for Excellence is an honorary society of donors who give undesignated gifts of $100 or more. It was created to give additional recognition to donors and to promote the concept of undesignated giving.
How does the Recent Graduates Program work?
Alumni who’ve graduated within the last five years are eligible to participate in the program. Members make a four-year commitment to gradually step up to the $100 giving level (see chart below). Gifts are made on an annual basis or may be broken down into semi-annual or quarterly contributions to make it easier on recent graduates entering the workforce. Members receive a membership reminder once a year (or at your requested interval) and are removed from our regular solicitation schedule.
| Recent Graduates Program: | One Annual Contribution of: | Two Semi-Annual Contributions of: | Four Quarterly Contributions of: |
| Year 1 | $20 | $10 | $5 |
| Year 2 | $40 | $20 | $10 |
| Year 3 | $60 | $30 | $15 |
| Year 4 | $80 | $40 | $20 |
| Year 5 – Graduate to the Dean’s Circle of the Western League for Excellence at the $100 level | |||
Why is undesignated giving important?
Undesignated gifts allow the MWSU Foundation the flexibility to immediately respond to the needs of the University as they arise by helping to provide programs, equipment, facilities, scholarships, and more that are not funded through tuition or the State of Missouri.
Member Benefits
Members of the Recent Graduates Program receive special recognition in
Missouri Western publications and at Missouri Western events. They also receive special invitations to University events, as well as a newsletter from the Vice President of University Advancement to give them the “inside scoop” about the University’s achievements, programs, students and events. New members receive a welcome packet including a certificate of recognition, a
Western League window cling and lapel pin. Members are also recognized by the level of their support. Donations are tax deductible to the extent the law allows.
How do I become a member?
Complete and return the enrollment form. Joining the Western League Recent Graduates Program expresses your intent to give a specified amount each year for four years (see chart above). After the initial four-year period is complete, your membership will automatically transfer to the Dean’s Circle of the Western League for Excellence to continue giving at the $100 level as long as you are able to do so, and your membership may be discontinued if you wish.
