Western offers a wide variety of scholarships
and financial aid opportunities that students can take advantage
of. The key to getting the most aid possible, is to apply early!
Scholarships (2010-2011)
The two main types of scholarships are
automatic and competitive. Automatic scholarships are awarded
based on a review of your previous academic record, while
competitive scholarships require a separate application process.
The other types of scholarships available include athletic
scholarships (contact the
coach) and music/performance scholarships (contact the
Music Department).

Financial Aid (Federal, State and
University financial assistance)
Financial Aid is offered by the federal
government, state government and the University based on the
results of your Free Application
for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). It includes grants, student
loans, work-study and other sources which will assist you in
paying for your educational related expenses. For more information
about the variety of programs and application process, please
visit the
Financial Aid website.
NOTE: The most common mistake that parents
and students make about financial aid is assuming that you will
not qualify. Studies have shown that a significant percentage of
students who do not apply for Financial Aid by the appropriate
deadline would have been eligible for some form of financial
assistance.
