Students wishing to live in the residence halls at Missouri Western State University are required to have up to date vaccinations for measles / mumps / rubella (MMR) tetanus / diphtheria (TD) and meningococcal disease (bacterial meningitis). Students considered to be at risks for tuberculosis (TB) are required to have a skin test. Students must submit proof of these immunizations and tests to the Esry Student Health Center.

Students who do not have the immunizations and tests, nor a completed Health History Form, or do not present an appropriately documented and signed medical or religious exemption form, will be denied housing and or forced to vacate the residence halls. Residence Council

The Residence Council (RC) is an organization of students whose goal is to enhance the live-on experience. Through different programs and efforts, RC aims to promote community, diversity and leadership to students living on campus. RC also maintains a close relationship with the Office of Residential Life, acting as the representatives for students and voicing their concerns. When you move into your hall you will find information regarding Residence Council’s first meeting. We encourage you to attend.

Resident Assistant (RA)

Resident Assistants or “RAs” are student staff members who are trained to help students adjust to living on campus and to college life in general. They are available to help with roommate conflicts, and act as a resource for personal and academic concerns.

Residence Hall Director (RHD)

The Residence Hall Director is responsible for the overall management and supervision of their hall. RHD’s are employed full time and either has their bachelors or masters degree and has experience working in residence halls. The RHD has regular office hours and is also available during the evening hours as part of the on-call duty rotation schedule.
