A Line Office Response to Terrorism

SYNOPSIS:
This course is designed to give law enforcement officers tools to proactively identify and report potential terrorists. International and domestic.

OBJECTIVES:

  • Provide background on the broader national purpose and explanation of the impetus for this training program
  • Discuss the FBI Watch List
  • Discuss/identify proper reporting mechanisms
  • Discuss Intelligence Lead Policing
  • Discuss the use of Terry Stops as a Method of Identifying potential terrorists
  • Identify the “Seven Signs of Terrorism”
  • Discuss the nexus between COP and Homeland Security
  • Define vigilance
  • Provide an overview of the Homeland Security System
  • Describe the ideologies of the activities engaged in, and the tactics used by different types of domestic terrorist/extremist groups
