In 1997, the U.S. Department of Justice,
Office for Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS)
funded the creation of the only national training
network to provide comprehensive and innovative law
enforcement education, training and technical assistance
throughout all 50 states and the 5 United States
territories. The RCPI Network (27 members) is an active
partnership of law enforcement agencies, educational
institutions, and non-profit community groups providing
innovative approaches to law enforcement strategies that
address quality of life issues. The RCPIs collectively
have provided training and technical assistance for over
300,000 law enforcement officers and community
stakeholders.
