STATEMENT OF PURPOSE The purpose of this research will be to explore and compare six BSW programs across Missouri to discover if class size and the use of evidence based practice has an effect on completion rates, ACAT scores and NSSE standings of the public colleges. STATEMENT OF RESEARCH METHODOLOGY Surveys will be conducted by phone and in person as allowable with the department heads and instructors at each institution for the qualitative portion of the research. The survey will utilize a semi-structured interview to allow the researcher to an opportunity to ask additional questions that are unique to the answers given during the interview process. Quantitative information will be gained from national statistics reported by each college. ANTICIPATED RISKS AND BENEFITS This study poses minimal risk to participants. The researcher will read a general statement of research prior to the interview. SUBJECT SELECTION The department heads and one instructor of six colleges across the state of Missouri will be interviewed to supplement the quantitative information that is gathered on the schools and to better learn about their curriculum. CONFIDENTIALITY Personal opinion statements will be generalized as to not be identifiable to any particular school or interviewee.
