ABSTRACT

TITLE: Bartlett Center’s Senior Program- “Meals on Wheels” PRINCIPLE INVESTIGATOR: Addie Buckler OTHER INVESTIGATORS: None Statement of Purpose The goal of this research project is to assess the Meals On Wheels that the Bartlett Center has through the Senior Program. The goal is to determine what is working for the program and what needs to be changed or critiqued. By evaluating this program through a questionnaire, we will be able to see what the seniors are enjoying and what needs to be changed. Importance of Research This study is important because the Bartlett Center is a Non-Profit Organization that has many different funders. If a program is not increasing the numbers of clients, or giving the services that were promised, then they are at risk of losing certain funders. The information that will be gathered will be beneficial for the Bartlett Centers Senior Program to see what needs to improve and help the Senior Program be successful. Statement of Research Methodology Surveys will be administered to 60 of the senior citizens that receive the Meals on Wheels from the Bartlett Center. There will be a set of questions for the participants to answer regarding the services that they have been receiving in the past year. Questions will range from “how long have you been receiving the Meals on Wheels program from the Bartlett Center” to “how confident are you that you will receive your meals on time every day?” Anticipated Risks and Benefits The research that is gathered during this study will help the Bartlett Center know how the program is helping the Saint Joseph community. This study will not involve any major risks to the participants and could possibly benefit the Bartlett Center with accessing the program as well as the clients that receive them. Subject Selection Participants will include all 60 senior citizens that receive the Meals on Wheels from the Bartlett Center. I will inform them the purpose of this study and make sure they completely understand. All of them will be asked to complete this survey while also having the option to not participate. The services that they receive from the Bartlett Center will not be penalized if they choose to not participate. Confidentiality The information and data that will be gathered will be anonymous information, by just reporting the overall data. The participant’s names will not be included when reporting the information, or be asked when they are taking the survey. All surveys will be kept in a locked filing cabinet in the Executive Directors office and be shredded once the completion of the report is finished.

Final Report on 05-08-2013
