STATEMENT OF PURPOSEThe purpose of this study was to determine Missouri Western State University students' attitudes towards the use or no use of on-campus recreational facilities.STATEMENT OF RESEARCH METHODOLOGYParticipants: we will use convenience sampling of current MWSU students excluding first year students. Measures: a set of questions will be asked on the survey to attain information about the current recreational facilities at MWSU and their choice to use or not use the facilities. Procedures: Students will be asked to complete a survey to attain their opinion on recreational facilities based on upon yes/no answers, ranking questions, and questions to determine demographics while maintaining complete confidentiality. No student's survey or information collected will be to linked to that student's identity.ANTICIPATED RISKS AND BENEFITSThe surveys that will be given will be given at minimal risks and at professor/student convenience. No survey is mandatory nor will it reveal identity of participant.SUBJECT SELECTIONThe number of students we will be asking will be around 50 with the aim to only use about 10% of the students being involved with an MWSU athletic team to replicate the demographics of the campus.CONFIDENTIALITYThe survey will be given to students at the professors' discretion and will be given randomly. No names or information will be collected that could lead to the revealing of a students' identity. All surveys will be collected and kept with the researchers. Information on the surveys will only be visible to researchers and the overseeing professor (Dr. Russell). When data collection is complete and presented the information will be presented in grouped data and never individually when possible.PRIMARY SUPPORTING DOCUMENTClick for Word DocumentExtension Request on 11-27-2012We have not completed collecting data for this research project.
