STATEMENT OF PURPOSEThe purpose of this project is to decide whether meals prepared at home are less expensive than fast food equivalents. The expected outcome of this study is that fast food is more expensive than meals prepared at home. This is gathered from our research articles and the surveys we will be giving out randomly.STATEMENT OF RESEARCH METHODOLOGYThe procedures will consist of handing out surveys to 20 males and 20 females for a total of 40 surveys to nutrition classes at Missouri Western. This survey will consist of 15-20 questions involving food preferences and costs. The researchers will begin to make meals at home and compare the cost to fast food equivalents.ANTICIPATED RISKS AND BENEFITSThis study will not present any dangers or discomforts participants would not experience in everyday life. A survey of twenty questions will be given to get a better understanding of how often people eat fast food, where they ate, how much they spend, etc.SUBJECT SELECTIONWe will be surveying 40 participants, 20 being males and 20 being females. They will be selected randomly from the two nutrition classes on campus of Missouri Western State University.CONFIDENTIALITYData will be kept confident by separating our consent forms and our surveys. The survey will NOT have any kind of identification on there, just whether they are male or female.PRIMARY SUPPORTING DOCUMENTClick for Word Document |
