Ellen Kisker is the director of the Non-Traditional Student Services. She has enjoyed working in this position since 1987 and considers it a privilege to assist adult students who are coming to college for the first time or returning after an absence. She also serves the campus as the ADA Coordinator helping to maintain equal access for students with disabilities. Since 1991 she has been the campus liaison for the MWSU Ambassadors, a group of campus and community women committed to raising scholarship monies for non-traditional students. In 1993 she began the Non-Traditional Student Association, a campus club for non-traditional students and in 1995 she started a chapter under Omicron Psi, which is a national honor society for non-traditional students.

Her bachelor's and master's degrees were earned in Business Education from Northwest Missouri State University. For five years she taught high school business classes. She was employed by Kansas City Power & Light for three years and then came to Missouri Western in 1986 as a business instructor.

Ellen and her husband Dave reside in St. Joseph. She has two daughters: Heather, a graduate of MU and Holly, a junior at NMSU.
