WESTERN PRESENTS FAMILY DAY
St. Joseph, Mo. -Aug. 31, 2011-The Center for Student Engagement and the Student Government Association at Missouri Western State University will host family weekend Sept. 9-10, 2011. This special weekend is to honor the families: all moms, dads, guardians, spouses, brothers, sisters, grandparents and friends of students are invited to a full weekend of fun, sun, interaction and football.
The weekend starts Friday with a free movie night. The movie, ''Thor'' will be presented at two different showings at 7 and 9:30 p.m., in the Kemper Recital Hall, Spratt 101. Limited tickets will be given away at Blum 207 starting at 8 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 9.
Saturday, families are invited to Walk. Run. Live UNITED. with the United Way of Greater St. Joseph. This 5K/10K walk/run will take place on campus, with registration starting at 8 a.m. and the race officially starting at 9 a.m. For more information visit http://walkrunliveunited.org/.

Griffon Indoor Sports Complex tours, 10 a.m.-noon, leaving from Remington Hall every 30 minutes.
