For example, some students are
primarily interested in drumset;
others are interested in marimba;
others are interested in marching
percussion. The percussion curriculum
allows students to focus on their
interests.
Course offerings for percussion
students include the following:
percussion ensembles, drumline,
steel drum bands, chamber percussion
ensembies, mallet ensembles,
drumset groups and relevant class
offerings, i.e. "How to Succeed
at the Highest Level With a Career
in Percussion.
The music department at Missouri
Western State University combines
the academics with practical
vocational insights for students
throughout their college careers.
The goal is to direct students
toward a successful career in
music using the college degree
as a springboard to their success.
