Karen Jensen
Karen Jensen, adjunct instructor
of elementary music, holds a
Bachelor's degree in music education
and a Master of Music degree,
choral specialist, from Emporia
State University. She also holds
certifications in Orff Schulwerk
from Northern Arizona University
and the VoiceCare Network. In
addition to memberships in Sigma
Alpha lota and Pi Kappa Lambda,
Ms. Jensen's professional affiliations
include Music Educators National
Conference, Missouri Music Educators
Association, and American Orff-Schulwerk
Association.
Ms. Jensen's teaching experience
includes twenty-five years of
elementary music, high school
theory and beginning strings
in the St. Joseph, Missouri School
District. She has taught at Missouri
Western since 1979 and also teaches
graduate courses in Orff Schulwerk
at the University of Missouri
- Kansas City. Additional experience
in graduate teaching include
Southwestern Oklahoma University,
Colorado State University, Northern
Arizona University, and Arizona
University West. She has been
in demand as a workshop clinician
throughout the United States.
Ms Jensen is also the instructor
of the Griffon Junior Singers,
a children's choral development
program sponsored by the St.
Joseph School District and Missouri
Western State University.
