Thank you for your interest in MWSU Color Guard!
This year tryouts will be held on March 21st and April 18th. They will start at 10:00 a.m. and end at 1:00 p.m. and will be held in Potter Hall (Fine Arts building) located on the Missouri Western campus. Auditioners are only required to attend one of the tryouts. During tryouts you will learn the MWSU Fight Song and a short dance/flag routine. This will help us determine how fast you can learn the routine. We will also be looking to see how well you can toss and march. If you know rifle or saber, you may bring it and a short routine to show us what you know. This is not a requirement. This year we will be providing the flags for tryouts so that everyone has the same height and weight of flag. Please wear your guard shoes if you have them. If not, athletic shoes are fine. Also wear clothes that you would work out in. No jeans. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Mr. Hinton, the band director, at hinton@missouriwestern.edu, or Mariah Churchill, guard captain, at mchurchill@missouriwestern.edu. You can also call the music office at 816-271-4420. If you cannot make it to any of these tryouts, please feel free to contact us and we will set up a date for you to come and tryout. Thank you for your interest in MWSU Color Guard and we hope to see you at tryouts!
