Located directly behind the Eder Hall on Missouri Western’s spacious campus, Murphy Hall's collegiate seal is visible from Mitchell Avenue directly in front of the main entrance. Completed during summer 2000, the building is full of technology and space. Housing the Communication Studies, Psychology and Education departments, this building boasts up-to-date technology in every classroom.
Named after Janet Gorman-Murphy, Missouri Western’s president until late 2000, the building was one of the many things Murphy helped Missouri Western achieve. A champion for higher education, Murphy was constantly finding ways to keep Missouri Western abreast with other schools in areas such as technology, education and scholarship. The newly finished building was dedicated to Murphy in 2000, during her last year as president of Missouri Western. |
