Accessing IMC PowerPoint Templates

  • Go to the IMC website
     
  • Go to this URL : Resources  
     
  • Left mouse click on the PowerPoint picture you want to use
     
  • This will bring the image up in a web browser, you shouldn’t see any of the font or text box information at this point
     
  • Then right mouse click on the PowerPoint picture and use the “Save Picture As” function
     
  • Save the PowerPoint picture on your “C” drive under the file “My Pictures”
     
  • This picture should be saved as a JPEG file
     
  • Then open PowerPoint
     
  • Open an existing or create a new presentation
     
  • The next step is to insert the PowerPoint picture you saved as the background.

There are two ways to do this:

  • While in “Slide View”, right mouse click on the PowerPoint slide background
     
  • Select “Background”
     
  • When this option window appears, there is a drop-down menu at the bottom where you can select the color of the background. Access this drop-down menu and go to the “Fill Effects” option.
     
  • Go to the “Picture” tab
     
  • Press the “Select Picture” option/button
     
  • This should take you to your “My Pictures” file on your hard drive
     
  • Highlight the PowerPoint template you want to use
     
  • Press “Insert” to select this template
     
  • This will take you back to the “Fill Effects” option, press OK
     
  • This will take you back to the “Background” window, you should see the template in the preview window.
     
  • Select the “Apply to All” option
     
  • This will apply the new PowerPoint template to all pages of your presentation
     
  • You should always check each slide and adjust text boxes or picture images when using a new background template

The second way to do this:

  • At the top of your PowerPoint program menu go to “Format” and select “Background”
     
  • When this option window appears, there is a drop-down menu at the bottom where you can select the color of the background. Access this drop-down menu and go
  • to the “Fill Effects” option.
     
  • Go to the “Picture” tab
     
  • Press the “Select Picture” option/button
     
  • This should take you to your “My Pictures” file on your hard drive
     
  • Highlight the PowerPoint template you want to use
     
  • Press “Insert” to select this template
     
  • This will take you back to the “Fill Effects” option, press OK
     
  • This will take you back to the “Background” window, you should see the template in the preview window.
     
  • Select the “Apply to All” option
     
  • This will apply the new PowerPoint template to all pages of your presentation
     
  • You should always check each slide and adjust text boxes or picture images when using a new background template
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
  • Reset your Master Slide attributes
  • Fonts should be Verdana, Tahoma or Arial in bold
  • Minimum size font used should be 24 point
  • Make sure you have a minimum 1”margin on the top and bottom of your slides so your text information is able to be seen
  • Make sure you have a minimum 1 ½” margin on the left and right of your slides so your text information is able to be seen
