MECHANICAL SUPERVISOR
ADMISSIONS COUNSELOR- responsible for recruiting students, representing and promoting Missouri Western State University in a positive and effective manner. Manages a recruiting territory, which includes overnight travel Monday through Thursday 3 weeks each month during the 6 month recruiting season; making contacts and developing relationships with counselors, visiting high schools and community colleges, helping students make the transition on from high school to college, and recruiting college fairs. Assists with evening telecounseling program when not traveling. Required: Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations or related field; 1 year of experience in student recruiting; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties. Good written and verbal communications, interpersonal skills, time management and working with diverse external and internal contacts. Must have a valid driver’s license. Must be able to lift 50 pounds. Prefer: Knowledge of MWSU programs and services. ASSISTANT DEVELOPMENTAL MATHEMATICS SPECIALIST-serves as a classroom tutor and assists the Developmental Math Specialists in the delivery and assessment of the course material. This is a full-time, 12-month staff position in the Developmental Mathematics Program. Required: Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Education or related field with a secondary teaching certificate and at least two years of experience teaching secondary or higher level mathematics. THE POSITION:
Missouri Western State University is seeking applications and nominations for the position of Assistant Director, Center for Advancement of Teaching and Learning. The Assistant Director reports to the Director of the Center plans, organizes and conducts activities that provide faculty, instructional support staff and administrators, as well as entire University operating units access to, training for and assistance in implementing traditional, innovative and creative approaches to improve teaching effectiveness and enhance student learning.

THE REQUIREMENTS:
Candidates must possess an earned doctorate and a record of effective teaching, scholarship and service meriting appointment as a faculty member with rank and tenure in one of the disciplines in the University (some teaching required); a demonstrated capacity to work effectively with students, faculty, staff, and other educational institutions; a record of successful higher education administration in a shared governance environment; a record of leadership in University pedagogical practice; knowledge of practices and procedures in higher ed administration and proficiency in their application; proficiency in team leadership in a shared governance environment; proficiency in oral and written communication; proficiency in the use of electronic and other technology to communicate effectively to diverse audiences; working knowledge of current theories of learning and proficiency in their application in effective University pedagogical practice. The Director reports to the Provost and Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs and provides management direction to the Center for the Advancement of Learning and Teaching and its component units. Responsibilities of this position include: fiscal management, budget development and planning, personnel administration including recruitment, hiring, retention, promotion, evaluation, dismissing and professional development, resource development through grant and contract activity, provision of support services through the Instructional Media Center, Study Away, Applied Learning and First Year Experience Programs and other duties as assigned by the Provost and Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs.

DIRECTOR OF FINANCIAL AID-assists in the establishment of institutional polices and procedures to comply with Federal Title IV regulation; oversees the administration of federal, state, institutional, and private financial aid programs; and serves as the institution’s liaison with numerous federal, state, and community organizations to provide financial aid to students. Distributes financial aid information to high school counselors and the public by providing workshops and presentations; supervises and provides guidance on financial aid decisions with staff; ensures university compliance with relevant regulations, analyzes changes in regulations and recommends and implements appropriate updates in university policies. Represents the university at national and state meetings and within professional organizations serving as an active ambassador for the institution. SCT Banner experience is strongly desired. REQUIRED: Master’s degree in business, accounting or a related field and five years of financial aid supervisory experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above. MECHANICAL SUPERVISOR - Coordinates and provides technical assistance to staff; oversees the maintenance and repair of universities utility systems; and ensures all work complies with federal, state, and local codes and regulations. Assigns, assists, supervises, and evaluates work performed by mechanical trades, ensuring code and regulatory compliance, estimates costs, locates vendors, prepares ordering requests, and inspects materials delivered. Develops plans and specifications for construction and renovation of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. REQUIRED: Associate degree in mechanical engineering and 6 years of commercial electrical, mechanical, HVAC/R, and supervisory experience; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above. Position requires heavy work exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently.
